Siddaramaiah Seeks Meeting With Governor Amid Speculation Over Karnataka Leadership Change
Political circles in Karnataka are abuzz after the Chief Minister requested an appointment with Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot following key discussions in New Delhi.

Karnataka politics witnessed fresh drama after Chief Minister Siddaramaiah sought an appointment with Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot on Thursday, sparking intense speculation about a possible leadership transition in the state government.
Sources from the Chief Minister’s Office confirmed that Siddaramaiah requested a formal meeting at Raj Bhavan, a move that comes after late night discussions involving senior Congress leaders in New Delhi.
According to party insiders, top Congress figures, including Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge, held meetings with Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D. K. Shivakumar to address the long running power sharing issue within the state unit.
Reports suggest that Siddaramaiah may step down as part of an earlier understanding within the party, under which leadership responsibilities would be shared during the government’s term. D.K. Shivakumar is widely seen as the leading contender to take over as Chief Minister if the transition moves forward.
The Chief Minister is also expected to meet cabinet colleagues and party legislators on Thursday morning to brief them on the developments and the direction taken by the party high command.
While some Congress leaders have described the Delhi meetings as routine consultations linked to upcoming Rajya Sabha elections, the political activity in Bengaluru has fueled speculation of an imminent change in leadership. Senior party observers are also expected to arrive in the state to oversee the situation and ensure unity within the party ranks.
