Sheikh Prof. Dr. Ali Al-Huthaify to Deliver Friday Sermon at the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah
Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Al-Bu’ijan named reserve khateeb for the 12 Jumada al-Awwal sermon
The Presidency for Religious Affairs at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque has announced that Sheikh Prof. Dr. Ali bin Abdul Rahman Al-Huthaify, Imam and Khateeb of the Prophet’s Mosque, will deliver this week’s Friday sermon in Madinah. The sermon falls on 12 Jumada al-Awwal 1448 AH, corresponding to Friday, October 23, 2026.
A reserve khateeb has also been named, as is customary. This week, that role goes to Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Abdul Rahman Al-Bu’ijan, who will step in if needed.
The Presidency published the announcement in several languages, including English, French, Urdu, Persian and Malay, to reach worshippers and followers around the world. Friday sermons from the Prophet’s Mosque are broadcast live and watched by Muslims across the globe each week.
