The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques has announced that Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Abdurrahman Al-Buaijan, Imam and Khatib of the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah, will deliver this Friday’s sermon and lead the Jumu’ah prayer at Masjid al-Nabawi.

The prayer is scheduled for 5 Dhul Hijjah 1447 AH — a deeply significant Friday falling in the heart of the ten blessed days of Dhul Hijjah, with the Day of Arafah now just four days away. The Prophet’s Mosque is currently receiving some of its largest crowds of the year, as hundreds of thousands of Hajj pilgrims pass through Madinah before making their way to Makkah to complete their pilgrimage.

As is the established practice, a reserve Khatib has also been officially confirmed for this week. Sheikh Dr. Khalid bin Suleiman Al-Muhanna will serve as the standby preacher, ready to lead if needed.

Sheikh Al-Buaijan is a respected and experienced Imam at Masjid al-Nabawi, well known for his clear and sincere delivery. His Friday sermons are broadcast live each week and followed by millions of Muslims around the world through television and digital platforms.

This particular Friday holds a special place in the hearts of Muslims everywhere. The ten days of Dhul Hijjah are described in Islamic tradition as the most virtuous days of the year, and praying at the Prophet’s Mosque during this time is considered an immense blessing and honour.
