Mangaluru to Kuwait Direct Flights Set to Resume From October 27 After Six Month Suspension
Air India Express prepares to restart thrice weekly direct flights under winter schedule, ending months of transit inconvenience for coastal Karnataka expatriates.
Direct flight operations connecting Mangaluru International Airport with Kuwait are set to resume from October 27, bringing major relief to thousands of non resident Indians across coastal Karnataka and neighboring regions.
Services along the high demand route were temporarily halted six months ago following geopolitical tensions and airspace disruptions across parts of the Middle East. With regional air traffic operations stabilizing, Air India Express is scheduling three direct flights per week on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays as part of its upcoming winter flight schedule.
During the suspension period, over 40,000 workers, business professionals, and families from regions spanning Uttara Kannada, Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, and Kasaragod were forced to rely on lengthy, expensive connecting flights through Mumbai, Bengaluru, or Kozhikode. Expatriate forums and community groups had repeatedly petitioned civil aviation authorities to restore direct air connectivity.
With direct connectivity returning, travel time between Mangaluru and Kuwait will drop back to around four and a half hours, offering seamless, affordable travel for passengers across the coastal belt.
