Rahul Gandhi Slams Centre Over NEET Exam Centre Confusion, Demands Accountability
Congress leader accuses the government of failing students after reports of last minute changes to NEET examination centres caused widespread confusion.

New Delhi: Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, has strongly criticised the Central Government over reports of confusion surrounding NEET examination centres, accusing the administration of putting the future of students at risk.
His remarks came after several NEET aspirants and their families reported facing difficulties on exam day due to unexpected changes in examination venues. According to reports, many students arrived at their assigned centres only to learn that their locations had been shifted, forcing them to travel to alternate venues at the last minute.
The situation reportedly created panic among candidates and parents, with some students struggling to reach their revised centres before the reporting deadline.
Reacting to the developments, Gandhi said the incident reflected deeper problems within the National Testing Agency (NTA). He argued that repeated issues related to the conduct of major examinations have raised serious concerns about the agency’s functioning and its ability to manage the academic aspirations of millions of students.
The Congress leader further stated that such incidents are causing unnecessary stress and uncertainty for young people preparing for highly competitive examinations. He also pointed to previous controversies surrounding entrance tests, saying that students deserve a transparent and reliable examination system.
As criticism of the examination management grew, opposition leaders called for a thorough investigation into the functioning of the NTA and its administrative procedures. Gandhi said accountability must be fixed and corrective measures should be taken to prevent similar situations in the future.
Meanwhile, student groups have also voiced concern over the reported disruptions, urging authorities to ensure that candidates are not adversely affected by administrative lapses.
Gandhi indicated that the issue would be raised in Parliament and reiterated his demand that the Education Ministry take responsibility for addressing the concerns of students and their families.
