Raghav Chadha and Six Other Rajya Sabha MPs Walk Out of AAP, Set to Join BJP
In a massive political shake up, seven AAP members of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha have announced their departure from the party, declaring their intention to align with the Bharatiya Janata Party.

In a development that could deal a significant blow to the Aam Aadmi Party, Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha has officially parted ways with AAP and announced his decision to join the BJP.
Chadha did not walk alone. He confirmed that fellow Rajya Sabha MPs Ashok Mittal and Sandeep Pathak are also making the switch to the saffron party alongside him.
But the exodus does not stop there.
According to Chadha, four more AAP Rajya Sabha MPs are also set to follow suit. Former cricketer Harbhajan Singh, industrialist Rajinder Gupta, businessman Vikram Sahney and former Delhi Commission for Women chief Swati Maliwal will all be joining the BJP as well.
This means a total of seven Rajya Sabha members from AAP are now moving to the ruling party, a shift that significantly weakens AAP’s presence in the Upper House of Parliament.
The mass departure comes at a time when AAP has already been facing internal turbulence and electoral setbacks. Losing seven members of the Rajya Sabha in one stroke marks one of the most dramatic episodes of political realignment for the party founded by Arvind Kejriwal.
The BJP, on the other hand, stands to strengthen its numbers in the Rajya Sabha with these high profile additions to its ranks.
Further details on the formal induction of these leaders into the BJP are awaited.
