Police Register FIR Against 22 Over Alleged Obstruction Near Bhatkal Disputed Site
The case follows a gathering near the NH 66 site on May 24, where police allege an inspector was stopped from carrying out his duty.

Bhatkal: Bhatkal City Police have filed an FIR against 22 named individuals and a few others following an incident reported near the disputed site along National Highway 66 on the night of May 24.
The complaint was lodged by City Police Inspector Diwakar P.M., who said the incident occurred around 8 pm when a crowd had gathered near the site. Police claim that around 50 people were present in the area at the time.
According to the FIR, the inspector went to the spot as part of his duty after tension was reported in the area. Police allege that some people in the gathering confronted him, argued with him and created an obstruction while he was trying to handle the situation.
The complaint further states that the inspector was allegedly pushed during the incident and sustained an injury to his leg. Police have treated the matter as an obstruction of official duty and registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.
The FIR names Taimur Gawai, Suhail Kaddari, Nayeem Kashimji, Salam Chamundi, Abdul Anan, Basit Muallim, Zulkif Hassan Taha Ruknuddin, Arif Jabali, Abdul Aleem Jabali, Jammer, Marwan Ajaib, Naufil, Ayan Damudi, Nasir, Javed Mukri, Faiz Mazhar, Arsalan Motia, Sharim Hasim, Muntazeen, Salam, Ahmed Peshamam and Taman.
Police have invoked Sections 189(2), 191(2), 132, 121(1), 351(2) and 190 of the BNS in the case.
Officials said the investigation is still in progress. Further details are expected after police complete the next stage of inquiry.
