No Disappointment Over Uttara Kannada Missing Cabinet Representation, Says Laxman Savadi

Uttara Kannada District In Charge Minister Laxman Savadi has said there is no dissatisfaction over the fact that none of the MLAs from the district secured a ministerial berth in the Karnataka cabinet.
Speaking to reporters near the Kali bridge in Karwar, Savadi said all leaders, including former ministers, would continue to work together to strengthen the party and contribute positively to the government’s performance.
He said opportunities in politics come and go and that such developments should be accepted with a balanced approach while continuing to work for the people.
Explaining the purpose of his district visit, Savadi said the state government is assessing damage caused by heavy rainfall and crop losses across Karnataka on the instructions of the Chief Minister.
He said information about rain related damage across five Assembly constituencies in Uttara Kannada is being collected from the Deputy Commissioner and the Chief Executive Officer of the Zilla Panchayat.
Reports from all 31 districts will be compiled and submitted to the state government soon to help determine the emergency relief measures required in affected areas, he added.
Responding to questions about a viral audio clip allegedly involving financial dealings related to ministerial positions, Savadi said he had seen media reports about the issue. He said the authenticity of the recording could only be established through an investigation and added that the party and government would take appropriate action.
On the BJP’s proposed protest demanding the resignation of Minister Nagendra, Savadi said the government would respond appropriately to the opposition’s campaign.
He also said the party high command’s decision would be final regarding the appointment of the Legislative Council Chairman and that selecting a suitable candidate whenever the position becomes vacant is part of the party’s normal process.
Later, Savadi inspected the construction work of the new bridge across the Kali River. Senior district officials, including the Deputy Commissioner and Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer, were present during the inspection.
