Multiple FIRs Filed After Bhatkal Tension, Viral Messages and Assault Allegations Mentioned in Police Reports
Official FIR copies from Bhatkal Town Police Station mention named complainants, accused details, property loss and social media activity after the late night unrest.

Bhatkal: Multiple FIRs have been registered at Bhatkal Town Police Station in connection with the tense situation reported near the disputed site in Bhatkal on the night of May 24.
According to the official FIR copies, police have registered separate cases related to crowd gathering, alleged assault, obstruction, damage, property loss and social media messages that reportedly led people to gather at the spot.
One of the FIRs mentions the location as near Muruvinkatta on NH 66 Road in Bhatkal. The report states that the incident took place late at night and that a crowd had gathered in the area, creating a law and order situation.
As per one FIR, an accused has been listed as an “unknown person,” with the name and address not known, while the religion column mentions Muslim. The FIR records the accused as an adult male.
Another FIR names Sachin, son of Yashwanth Rao Pawar, aged 30, as an accused, as per the official document.
The FIR copies also mention complainants including Raghavendra Naik, Suresh Naik and Dimakar P M, based on the complaints recorded by police.
One FIR records a complaint regarding property loss. It mentions a 15 gram silver chain and one mobile phone, with the total estimated value listed as ₹44,000.
Police have also recorded that messages and videos were circulated on social media, allegedly asking people to gather near the site. The FIRs indicate that this social media activity is also under investigation.
The cases include legal provisions under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita 2023 and other relevant sections. Police have taken up investigation in all the registered cases.
The FIRs were registered after tension continued in Bhatkal over the disputed site issue, prompting additional police deployment and prohibitory orders under Section 163 of BNSS.
Authorities have appealed to the public to maintain peace, avoid rumours and cooperate with police while the investigation continues.
