Nagpur: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat on Thursday said that India is entering an important phase in its history and has the potential to offer meaningful leadership to the world. However, he stressed that the country must actively prepare itself to fulfil this responsibility.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the RSS Karyakarta Vikas Varg Dwitiya training camp, Bhagwat said that the world is increasingly looking towards India for guidance. He noted that simply waiting for the right moment is not enough and that society must work collectively to become capable of meeting future challenges.

The event was attended by industrialist Kumar Mangalam Birla, who was the chief guest.

Bhagwat said that Hindu society is becoming more aware, organised, and confident about its identity. According to him, the effects of this growing awareness can already be seen in different parts of the country.

Referring to global developments, he pointed to economic difficulties faced by several countries and continuing conflicts in different regions. He also mentioned that tensions involving the United States and Iran have affected global energy markets, leading to higher fuel and oil prices in India.

The RSS chief said India should draw strength from its cultural traditions, civilisational values, and unique worldview. He argued that the country should not consider itself inferior to former colonial powers and must develop the capability to protect its interests in a world where influence is often linked to strength.

He remarked that nations are more likely to be heard when they possess the power to back their words. Even when India speaks the truth, he said, its message can be ignored if it is not supported by adequate strength.

Describing India as a nation deeply rooted in dharma, Bhagwat said the country’s goal is not to dominate others but to contribute positively by promoting ethical values, balance, and harmony.

He also emphasised that the RSS is focused on national development rather than seeking recognition for its work. According to him, the organisation’s mission is fulfilled as long as the work benefits the nation, regardless of whether the RSS receives public credit for it.
