Addressing the gathering, Ateequr Rahman Muniri highlighted the growing influence of media in every aspect of modern life. He said that reaching a wider audience has become nearly impossible without the support of media and digital platforms. He stressed the importance of cooperation among media professionals, noting that sharing experiences and working in a coordinated manner can help deliver more effective services in less time.

He also stated that this was the first time media representatives from different platforms in the city had been brought together for a collective discussion. He expressed hope that the Gulf Council would continue organizing similar goodwill meetings with different sections of society and develop a structured framework for ongoing engagement with media professionals.

Speaking on the occasion, Fikrokhabar Editor in Chief Maulana Syed Hashim Nizam Nadwi discussed the significance of media and its positive role in contemporary society. He said that throughout history, all prophets used the most effective communication tools available in their respective eras to spread their message and guide people towards righteousness.

Drawing examples from the life of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, Maulana explained that reaching out to tribes, sending letters to rulers and kings, and addressing public gatherings were among the most powerful communication methods of that time. He said these examples teach the Muslim community to make constructive use of every effective medium available in each era.

Maulana Hashim observed that some people hesitate to adopt new technologies and modern methods, which often causes them to fall behind changing times. He emphasized that individuals and institutions that understand contemporary needs and embrace innovation are better positioned to make a meaningful impact on society.

He further noted that challenges and shortcomings are natural in the early stages of any initiative. However, those who move forward with sincerity, dedication, and a willingness to improve ultimately achieve success.

Highlighting the global reach of modern media, he urged participants not to limit their efforts to local or regional audiences. He said digital platforms have transformed the world into a global village, making it important for young people to learn multiple languages so they can communicate their ideas effectively on an international stage.

Encouraging unity and collaboration, he advised media professionals to support one another and work towards shared goals for the benefit of the community.

Fikrokhabar associate Maulana Mufti Abdul Noor Fakradey Nadwi stressed the importance of using media responsibly within the framework of Islamic values and utilizing it as a tool for social reform.

Senior journalist Dr. Hanif Shabab spoke about the evolution of journalism over the years and emphasized the need to adapt media practices to changing circumstances. Bhatkal News Editor Ateequr Rahman Shabandri shared insights into the history and development of journalism in Bhatkal.

During the programme, special tribute was paid to Maulana Abdul Aleem Qasmi, owner of Naqsh e Nawayat, for his five decades of service in journalism, and to Mohsin Shabandri, popularly known as “Computer Mohsin,” the founder of Bhatkalis.

Speaking on the occasion, Mohsin Shabandri revealed that his website preserves rare audio recordings of several prominent scholars, intellectuals, and notable personalities of the town dating back to 1945. He described these recordings as a valuable historical archive. He also appreciated the contributions of Maulana Abdul Mateen Muniri and remarked that determination, commitment, and perseverance are essential ingredients for accomplishing any significant task.

The meeting concluded in a warm and positive atmosphere, with participants expressing their commitment to greater cooperation, stronger communication, and collective efforts for the advancement of media and social service initiatives in the future.
