Karnataka Begins Statewide Electoral Roll Revision as 59,000 BLOs Start Door to Door Verification
Election officials have launched a month long voter verification drive to update electoral rolls and verify nearly 46 lakh unmapped voters across the state.

Karnataka has started a large scale voter verification exercise with around 59,000 Booth Level Officers beginning a door to door survey as part of the Special Intensive Revision of the state’s electoral rolls.
The month long campaign is aimed at updating voter records, removing errors, and ensuring that the electoral rolls are accurate before the next stage of the revision process. Officials said the exercise is especially important because nearly 46 lakh voters across the state are yet to be properly mapped or verified.
During the survey, Booth Level Officers will visit households to distribute and collect enumeration forms. They will also verify addresses, remove duplicate or deceased entries, and register newly eligible voters who have turned 18.
Election authorities said many of the unmapped voter records have incomplete addresses, missing location details, or pending document verification. Officials are focusing on correcting these records to ensure that eligible voters are not left out of the electoral rolls.
The statewide drive comes after the government introduced measures to simplify the verification process. Citizens can now apply for required documents through the Seva Sindhu portal, while thousands of physical assistance centres have also been set up to help people obtain permanent residence certificates.
Officials have appealed to residents to cooperate with Booth Level Officers during their visits and provide the necessary information. The first phase of the exercise is expected to conclude on July 29, while the draft electoral roll is scheduled to be published on August 5.
Authorities have advised voters to complete the verification process within the prescribed timeline to avoid any issues with their names appearing on the final electoral rolls.
