Jamia Islamia Bhatkal Inaugurates Expanded Secondary Library
The renovated library has been reorganised with a wider collection of Arabic, Urdu and English books to support students' reading habits and intellectual development.

Bhatkal (Fikrokhabar News): Jamia Islamia Bhatkal has inaugurated its expanded and renovated Secondary Library, marking another step in the institution’s efforts to strengthen the academic and intellectual development of its students.
Since its establishment, Jamia Islamia has focused on providing students with both academic knowledge and practical training so that they can develop into capable individuals who can play meaningful roles in society. Various educational and training initiatives have been introduced over the years to encourage intellectual growth and personal development.
Around a decade ago, when the Secondary Department was established at Jamia Abad, a library was also set up for its students under the guidance and vision of the teachers. Books covering various subjects and fields of knowledge were gradually added to meet the academic needs of students.
As the number of students increased and their learning requirements expanded, the library underwent further improvements. Books were reorganised according to students’ academic levels, interests and abilities, while the collection was classified by different subjects and disciplines.
The renovated library now houses a substantial collection of useful books in Arabic, Urdu and English. The arrangement has been designed to help students easily find books according to their individual interests and academic requirements.
The expansion was undertaken in response to the growing number of students and the shortage of space in the existing library. The aim was not merely to increase the available space but also to create a spacious, peaceful and welcoming environment that encourages focused reading and learning.
The inauguration ceremony was held on Monday, November 2, corresponding to 21 Jumada al Awwal 1446 AH, at 12 noon. The programme began with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Hafiz Basil bin Abdul Basir Muniri, a fourth year Arabic student.
Maulana Fawaz Mansoori Nadwi, who is in charge of the Secondary Library, conducted the programme.
One of the highlights of the ceremony was a documentary presenting the library’s history, from its establishment to its recent expansion and renovation. The documentary was prepared under the supervision of Maulana Abdul Rasheed Shehraz Shahbandari Nadwi and Maulana Suhaib Kola Nadwi. The narration by Asad bin Maulana Adnan Quazi, a fourth year Arabic student, also drew the attention of the audience.
The programme was attended by Jamia Vice President Maulana Abdul Mateen Muniri, Jamia Nazim Maulana Talha Ruknuddin Nadwi, Jamia Mohtamim Maulana Maqbool Ahmed Kobatte Nadwi, Deputy Mohtamim Maulana Abdul Aleem Khateeb Nadwi, Shura Council member Maulana Ilyas Jakti Nadwi and other guests and institution officials.
The guests appreciated the expansion and renovation, describing it as an important step in the academic progress of Jamia Islamia. They expressed hope that the library would serve as a valuable centre for reading, learning and intellectual development among students.
The institution also expressed gratitude to the teachers, administrators and supporters who contributed their time, skills and resources to the project. Special appreciation was extended to Vice President Maulana Abdul Mateen Muniri for his guidance, encouragement and support.
The institution prayed that Allah accepts this initiative, makes the library beneficial for students and rewards everyone who contributed to its development.
