A religious and intellectual gathering focused on the importance of understanding and implementing Islamic Shariah witnessed speeches by prominent scholars who highlighted the relevance of Islamic teachings in modern society and the growing need to address misconceptions surrounding Muslim Personal Law.

During his address, Ahmad Bastawi stated that the laws of Shariah are based entirely on wisdom, justice, mercy, and the welfare of humanity. He explained that anything which creates injustice, hardship, or unnecessary suffering cannot truly be part of Islamic Shariah.

He stressed that it is the responsibility of Muslims to present the beauty and wisdom of Islamic teachings before society. According to him, many misunderstandings about Islam have spread because Muslims themselves failed to properly communicate its teachings. He added that people can only be guided towards the truth through wisdom, love, kindness, and respectful dialogue.

Delivering the keynote address, Moulana Khalid Ghazipuri Nadvi said that religion is entirely based on sincerity and well wishing for humanity. He explained that proper understanding of Islam helps individuals move away from humiliation and moral decline towards dignity and success.

He further said that both understanding and explaining religion are equally important. Without proper understanding, even acts of worship lose their true spirit. He emphasized that prayers and fasting cannot be performed correctly unless people first understand the purpose and teachings behind them.

Another important speech was delivered by Moulana Fazlur Rahim Mujaddidi, who reviewed the activities of the Muslim Personal Law Board. He claimed that organised efforts are being made to create mistrust among Muslims regarding the Personal Law Board and Islamic laws. According to him, even among educated Muslims and legal professionals, many people either lack awareness about the board or hold incorrect assumptions regarding its role and objectives.

The gathering also featured lectures on important social and religious topics. One of the sessions focused on maintenance after divorce and explained how Islamic law aims to ensure justice and balance in society. Speakers argued that in many Western societies, financial maintenance has become a source of exploitation, while Islam offers a more balanced and ethical system.

Another lecture titled “Polygamy” was presented by Moulana Mohammed Asad Nadvi. He discussed the issue from religious, social, and moral perspectives and said that examples of multiple marriages can be found in many religions, including Hinduism, Judaism, and Christianity.

He also highlighted social realities such as population imbalance caused by wars and higher male mortality rates. According to him, polygamy can serve as a social solution in certain situations and help maintain family and moral stability in society.

Following the lectures, an interactive question and answer session was held where participants raised several questions and scholars provided detailed responses.

The program concluded with a presidential address by Moulana Fazlur Rahim Mujaddidi, who said that the purpose of such gatherings is not limited to sharing information but also to spread proper understanding of Islam and remove misunderstandings related to Islamic Shariah. He urged scholars, intellectuals, and youth to work together in presenting the true image of Islam and protecting society from moral and ideological confusion.

The session concluded with a dua led by the president of the gathering.
