High Alert Issued Along Coastal Karnataka as Strong Winds and Heavy Rain Expected
Weather department warns fishermen against venturing into the sea amid forecast of stormy winds and rough waves.

Karwar: The India Meteorological Department has issued a weather alert for the coastal regions of Karnataka, warning of strong winds and rough sea conditions on May 17 and 18.
According to the advisory, wind speeds in the Arabian Sea are expected to reach between 40 and 50 kilometres per hour and may occasionally touch 60 kilometres per hour. Due to the possibility of high waves and turbulent sea conditions, fishermen have been strictly advised not to venture into the sea during this period.
Authorities have placed the coastal belt on high alert to ensure the safety of fishermen and boats operating in the region.
The weather department has also predicted heavy rainfall across coastal Karnataka from May 19 to May 21 as the weather system intensifies further.
Residents living in coastal areas have been advised to remain cautious and take all necessary safety measures during the expected spell of severe weather.
