Haneef Abad Residents Take Road Repair Into Their Own Hands After Years of Neglect
Frustrated by the poor condition of a key road, local residents carried out repair work using their own funds.

Bhatkal: Residents of Haneef Abad have stepped forward to repair a long neglected road after years of waiting for official action.
The road connecting Jamiaabad Road to Masjid Muniri in Haneef Abad had become severely damaged, with numerous potholes making daily travel difficult for residents, schoolchildren and pedestrians.
The situation worsened during the monsoon season as rainwater collected in the deep potholes, creating safety risks for motorists and other commuters. Motorcycle riders in particular faced difficulties while travelling along the route, and residents regularly complained about the inconvenience caused by the poor condition of the road.
After receiving no permanent solution for several years, residents living near Masjid Muniri and other parts of Haneef Abad decided to address the issue themselves.
Local community members pooled their own resources and purchased cement and other necessary materials to fill the potholes and carry out repair work. Their efforts have significantly improved the condition of the road, making travel safer and more convenient for people using the route.
Residents hope that their initiative will encourage the concerned authorities to take notice of the issue and undertake proper road development and maintenance work in the area.
