Haj Committee of India Urges Pilgrims to Keep Passports Ready for Haj 2027
Prospective Haj pilgrims have been advised to ensure their passports meet all requirements ahead of the official Haj 2027 announcement.

The Haj Committee of India has issued an advisory asking people planning to perform Haj in 2027 to prepare their passports in advance, as the arrangements for the pilgrimage are set to begin soon.
According to the circular, the Ministry of Haj and Umrah of Saudi Arabia released its Haj 1448H preparation document on May 29, 2026, marking the start of the planning process for Haj 2027. The official Haj announcement for Indian pilgrims is expected shortly.
In view of the upcoming announcement, intending pilgrims who wish to undertake Haj through the Haj Committee of India have been advised to ensure that their passports are ready and comply with the prescribed conditions.
The committee has stated that passports must be machine readable and should remain valid until at least December 31, 2027. It has also clarified that applicants seeking a new passport must ensure that the surname or last name field is not left blank.
The Haj Committee of India has requested all State and Union Territory Haj Committees to widely publicize the advisory so that prospective pilgrims can complete the necessary preparations well in advance and avoid last minute difficulties.
