She questioned why such a large protest was allowed on busy roads instead of being held in an open ground nearby. In the widely shared video, she can be heard urging organisers to shift the protest to an open space, pointing out that hundreds of people were waiting in traffic while an empty ground was available close by.

The protest comes in the backdrop of recent developments in Parliament, where the Lok Sabha voted on April 11 on the Constitution Amendment Bill related to women’s reservation. Although a majority supported the proposal, it did not secure the required two thirds votes needed to pass.
