Etihad Rail Opens Dubai to Abu Dhabi Ticket Bookings Ahead of September 30 Launch
Fares start at Dh39 for Comfort Class as passengers can now book seats from Dubai to Abu Dhabi
Dubai: Passengers can now book tickets for Etihad Rail services from Dubai to Abu Dhabi ahead of the official opening of the Dubai station on September 30.
Tickets are available through the Etihad Rail website and mobile application. Fares from Dubai to Abu Dhabi start at Dh39 per passenger for Comfort Class, while Premium Class tickets start at Dh109.
The first train from Dubai is scheduled to depart at 6:15am, with four additional services planned during the day. The journey to Abu Dhabi is expected to take around one hour and four minutes.
Passengers travelling from Dubai towards Fujairah currently have one service available, with the journey expected to take approximately one hour and 10 minutes.
Travellers can choose between Comfort Class and Premium Class. Comfort Class passengers will have access to complimentary WiFi, power sockets at every seat and a food and beverage trolley service.
Premium Class will offer wider reclining seats, additional legroom, complimentary refreshments and snacks, along with a quieter cabin environment.
Etihad Rail is offering three ticket categories called Saver, Value and Flex. The Saver ticket comes with an automatically assigned seat and does not allow changes. It is also non refundable.
The Dubai station, officially named Al Yalayis Station, is scheduled to open on September 30 along with Al Dhaid Station in Sharjah. Located in Jumeirah Golf Estates near Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road, the station will provide access to communities including Al Furjan, Dubai Investment Park and Dubai South.
A second Etihad Rail station is planned at Meydan and is expected to connect with the Dubai Metro Gold Line, which is scheduled for completion in 2032.
Planned Dubai Metro Connection
A dedicated pedestrian bridge is being developed to connect Al Yalayis Station with Jumeirah Golf Estates Metro Station on the Red Line. The planned link will allow passengers to transfer between Etihad Rail and Dubai’s urban public transport network.
Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority has also confirmed that the Nol card system is prepared for integration with Etihad Rail. This would allow passengers to use Nol cards across Dubai Metro, buses, taxis and rail services.
Etihad Rail began its first passenger service on June 30, 2026. The inaugural train departed from Fujairah Station at 5:34am and reached Mohamed bin Zayed City Station in Abu Dhabi at 7:19am.
The approximately 250 kilometre journey took around one hour and 45 minutes, with the train reaching Abu Dhabi ahead of schedule. Etihad Rail said more than 10,000 tickets had been sold before the first day of passenger operations, with six services scheduled for the inaugural day.
