A condolence meeting was held at Jamia Zia Ul Uloom Kundloor following the passing of renowned Islamic scholar Maulana Syed Salman Husaini Nadwi. The gathering was attended by the institution’s administrator, teachers, and students, who paid tribute to his remarkable religious, academic, intellectual, and missionary services. Special prayers were also offered for his forgiveness and eternal peace.

Addressing the gathering, the administrator of the institution, Maulana Ubaidullah Abubakar Nadwi, said that Jamia Zia Ul Uloom Kundloor has always shared a close academic and spiritual connection with Darul Uloom Nadwatul Ulama. Because of this long standing relationship, many distinguished scholars associated with Nadwa have visited the institution over the years, including Maulana Abul Hasan Ali Nadwi, Maulana Rabey Hasani Nadwi, Maulana Abdullah Hasani Nadwi, Maulana Syed Salman Husaini Nadwi, Maulana Wazeh Rashid Nadwi, Maulana Saeedur Rahman Azmi, Maulana Jafar Sahib, Maulana Bilal Sahib, Maulana Mahmood Sahib, and several other respected scholars.

He said Maulana Syed Salman Husaini Nadwi shared a particularly close bond with the institution and personally remained deeply connected with its administration. Whenever he visited the region, he would make it a point to visit the Jamia and actively participate in its educational and religious programmes.

Recalling the institution’s difficult phases, Maulana Ubaidullah said the Jamia had faced several challenges throughout its history. During those times, Maulana Syed Salman Husaini Nadwi stood firmly with the institution by offering guidance, encouragement, and unwavering support. He consistently expressed concern for its growth and appreciated every positive initiative undertaken by the Jamia.

He described the late scholar as a fearless, courageous, and outspoken personality who never hesitated to speak the truth. His work through Tehreek Shabab Ul Islam and his contributions in the fields of Islamic scholarship, intellectual thought, and Dawah will continue to inspire future generations.

The speakers also highlighted his outstanding scholarship in Hadith and noted that his academic excellence was recognised not only in India but across the Arab world and among scholars internationally. They praised his exceptional command of the Arabic language and his elegant style of Urdu writing. His autobiographical work titled Muzakkirati, published in multiple volumes, was also mentioned as an important contribution to Islamic literature. They noted that he remained engaged in research and writing until the final days of his life.

The gathering remembered him as one of the most influential voices of Nadwatul Ulama after the passing of Maulana Abul Hasan Ali Nadwi. His powerful speeches, deep knowledge, and sincere concern for the Muslim community earned him respect and admiration wherever he spoke.

Among the speakers were Maulana Ilyas Nadwi, Maulana Zameer Rashadi, Mufti Fayyaz Ahmad Barmare Husaini, and Mufti Sabir Hussain Nadwi. They reflected on his scholarship, sincerity, courage, vast knowledge, and his lasting relationship with Jamia Zia Ul Uloom Kundloor.

In his concluding remarks, Maulana Ubaidullah Abubakar Nadwi advised students to develop a love for knowledge, cultivate the habit of reading, uphold sincerity, remain courageous, and always stand for the truth. He said the life and character of Maulana Syed Salman Husaini Nadwi offer an ideal example for every student to follow.

The programme concluded with a special prayer seeking Allah’s mercy, forgiveness, and the highest place in Jannatul Firdaus for the late scholar.
