Fifth Fiqh Seminar of Majma Imam Al Shafii Al Alami Continues in Chennai

Chennai, September 26: The fifth Fiqh Seminar organised by Majma Imam Al Shafii Al Alami is continuing at the Haj House in Chennai, with scholars and researchers discussing contemporary issues in the light of Shafii jurisprudence.

The third session of the seminar began at 8:30 AM on Saturday with the recitation of the Holy Quran. Chief Mufti of Jama Masjid Mumbai, Maulana Mufti Ashfaq Qazi, presented an Arz e Masail on several contemporary issues concerning the buying and selling of gold. He presented the views and arguments of various researchers on the subject. A summary of the presentation was later delivered in Tamil.

The session was presided over by Maulana Khwaja Moinuddin, President of Jamaat Ulama. In his presidential address, he appreciated the efforts of the Muftis and researchers and said that such scholarly seminars are an important need of the present era.

Discussion on Friday Prayer and Migration

The fourth session was held immediately afterwards on important contemporary issues related to Friday prayer and migration.

Mufti Faiyaz Ahmed Baramare and Mufti Zahir Patel presented their respective research papers, discussing various issues concerning Friday prayer and migration in the context of present day circumstances.

The session was presided over by Maulana Abdul Rab Nadwi, Qazi of Jamaat Ul Muslimeen Bhatkal. In his presidential address, he expressed his appreciation for the organisation of the seminar and praised the work of the researchers.

He also highlighted several important aspects related to the issues of Friday prayer and migration discussed during the session and drew the attention of the participants to various points for further consideration.

Following the presentations in both sessions, the delegates and scholars engaged in detailed discussions and shared their views on the issues raised by the researchers. Their suggestions and opinions were recorded by the Suggestions Committee for further consideration.

The sessions concluded with prayers at around 2 PM.

Scholars Present

Those present on the stage included President of Majma Imam Al Shafii Al Alami Maulana Mufti Rafiq Purkar, General Secretary Maulana Ubaidullah Nadwi, Vice President Maulana Muhammad Ansar Madani Nadwi, Sheikhul Hadith of Jamia Hussainiya Shriwardhan Maulana Muhammad Ibrahim, Vice President of Jamia Islamia Maulana Abdul Mateen Muniri, Mufti Ashfaq Qazi, Mufti Nazir and several local scholars from Chennai.

The three day seminar is bringing together scholars and researchers to examine contemporary issues and explore their solutions based on the principles and sources of Shafii jurisprudence.
