Cockroach Janta Party X Account Withheld in India, Says Founder Abhijeet Dipke
Satirical online political campaign claims over 6 lakh registrations as its X account faces legal restriction in India.

The X account of the Cockroach Janta Party, popularly known as CJP, has been withheld in India following a legal demand, according to the group’s founder Abhijeet Dipke.
Users visiting the account are now shown a message stating that the handle has been withheld in response to legal action. The account had gathered nearly 165.5K followers before access was restricted in the country.
Despite the move on X, the group’s Instagram account remains active and continues to attract massive attention online. As of the latest update, the account has crossed 12.6 million followers.
The Cockroach Janta Party emerged last week as a satirical online campaign focusing on issues affecting young people, including unemployment, political accountability, and governance. The name is widely seen as a parody reference to the Bharatiya Janata Party.
The campaign was launched on May 16 by Abhijeet Dipke, who recently completed his master’s degree in Public Relations from Boston University in the United States.
According to Dipke, the platform has already received more than 6 lakh registrations from supporters and followers across the country. The group describes itself on its website as the “Voice of the Lazy and Unemployed.”
The party’s manifesto includes several unconventional demands and political reforms. Among them are a ban on post retirement Rajya Sabha positions for former chief justices, 50 percent reservation for women in Parliament without increasing the total number of seats, and a 20 year ban on politicians who switch parties.
The rapid growth of the campaign on social media has drawn widespread attention online. Its Instagram following has reportedly surpassed that of the BJP’s official Instagram account.
The development has sparked fresh discussions around online satire, digital political activism, and freedom of expression on social media platforms in India.
