Cockroach Janta Party Founder Says Elections Are Not the Focus, Criticises PM Over Student Issues
Abhijeet Dipke demands action over the NEET controversy and says student concerns are being ignored by the country's leadership.

Mumbai: Cockroach Janta Party founder Abhijeet Dipke has clarified that his organisation is not interested in entering electoral politics and is instead focused on raising issues affecting students across the country.
Speaking at a press conference in Mumbai on Tuesday, Dipke said citizens should not have to contest elections just to make their voices heard or demand accountability from those in power.
The press conference was held ahead of a nationwide protest organised by the Cockroach Janta Party, which is calling for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the NEET UG controversy and alleged irregularities in the education system.
Dipke also criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accusing him of failing to engage with students at a time when many are facing uncertainty and stress. He said the Prime Minister should speak directly with students and understand the challenges they are experiencing.
According to Dipke, the Prime Minister should also acknowledge the suffering of families affected by student suicides linked to the cancellation of the NEET UG examination. He questioned why there had been no public expression of sympathy from the country’s top leadership regarding these incidents.
He further remarked that while the Prime Minister frequently comments on events taking place around the world, students in India are struggling with serious concerns that deserve equal attention. Dipke urged the government to listen to students and address their grievances.
Reiterating his party’s stand, Dipke said the protests would continue until Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan steps down and takes responsibility for the alleged failures connected to the NEET UG 2026 paper leak and concerns surrounding the CBSE on screen marking system for Class 12 examinations.
The remarks came just days after Dipke was allegedly assaulted during a protest in Jaipur on June 15. Two men reportedly slapped him while he was being carried by supporters. Police later detained two youths in connection with the incident.
When asked about the possible motive behind the attack, Dipke claimed that individuals linked to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh were involved. He alleged that such incidents occur whenever people challenge the government or oppose its ideology.
Despite the attack, Dipke said his movement would remain peaceful and democratic. He stressed that the focus remains on securing justice for more than one crore students who he believes have been affected by irregularities in the education system.
