CJP Founder Abhijeet Dipke Demands Amit Shah’s Resignation Over Police Action on Student Protest

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, July 30: Cockroach Janta Party founder Abhijeet Dipke has demanded the resignation of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, alleging that the police action against students during the July 20 Sansad Chalo march was carried out under his directions.

Speaking to reporters at his residence after returning from a month long protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, Dipke claimed that democracy in the country was under threat. He alleged that institutions meant to safeguard democratic values had failed in their responsibilities and accused central investigative agencies of being used for political purposes.

Dipke said protecting democracy was no longer the responsibility of the Opposition alone and called on citizens to unite in defence of constitutional values.

He also criticised the appointment of Pralhad Joshi as the new Union Education Minister following the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan. Referring to recent controversies, Dipke questioned the government’s decision and accused it of sending the wrong message to the public.

Responding to comments made by yoga guru and entrepreneur Baba Ramdev about Generation Z and the student movement, Dipke defended the protests, saying they were peaceful and conducted within the framework of the Constitution. He maintained that the movement drew inspiration from the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi and Dr B R Ambedkar and urged Ramdev to focus on his business activities instead.

Supporting the Opposition’s demand for Amit Shah’s resignation, Dipke alleged that if claims of outside funding for the Cockroach Janta Party were true, it would reflect a failure on the part of the Union Home Minister. He further claimed that the decision to use force against students during the July 20 protest could only have come from Shah, although he did not provide evidence to support the allegation.

Dipke also expressed support for farmers’ movements, saying the Cockroach Janta Party would stand with farmers whenever they sought assistance. He said many members of the organisation come from farming families and understand their concerns.

He urged the police to remain committed to the Constitution rather than any political party. He also alleged that Delhi Police had positioned trucks carrying stones and a damaged vehicle near the protest site before the demonstration, claiming it was part of an attempt to falsely portray protesters as violent. According to Dipke, police later told him the material was construction debris. These allegations have not been independently verified.
