Blaze Erupts in Old Udupi Building Near City Bus Stand; No Casualties Reported
Four fire brigades contained a sudden blaze at a historic building in central Udupi, with locals expressing frustration over the delayed emergency response.

On Sunday evening, April 26, a sudden fire broke out in an old building right across from the bustling city bus stand in Udupi. The structure sits in the heart of the city, and a few shops inside were still open when the flames erupted.
Thankfully, no one was hurt in the incident. However, the fire completely gutted several shops, leaving nothing but ashes behind. Authorities are still trying to figure out what sparked the blaze.
People who were at the scene expressed deep frustration over how long it took for emergency crews to arrive. They pointed out that even though the incident happened right in the middle of the city, the delayed response could have led to a much bigger disaster.
Eventually, four fire and emergency vehicles rushed to the scene from Udupi, Manipal, Padubidri, and Kundapur. The firefighters worked tirelessly to bring the flames under control. Their hard work paid off, preventing the fire from spreading to neighboring buildings.
Local police are now looking into the matter to determine exactly what caused the fire.
