Bhatkal Qazis Urge Community to Pray for Rain Amid Water Shortage
Qazis appeal to Muslims to seek forgiveness, give charity and offer special prayers as the region faces a severe shortage of rainfall

Bhatkal: The Qazis of Bhatkal have issued an appeal to the Muslim community amid a severe shortage of rainfall that has resulted in water scarcity and other difficulties in the town.
In their joint message, the Qazis urged Muslims to turn to Allah Almighty through sincere repentance and seek forgiveness during the present situation.
Referring to the teachings of the Quran and Hadith, the statement called on Muslims to reflect on their actions and pay attention to their religious and social responsibilities. It specifically highlighted the importance of fulfilling Zakat obligations and respecting the rights of others.
The Qazis also encouraged community members to increase Sadaqah and charitable giving and support those in need. They urged people to make special Dua for rain and seek Allah’s mercy and relief from the difficulties being faced.
The Qazis further appealed to Imams of mosques to include special prayers for rain during Qunoot in the Fajr prayer and to make Dua for rain, peace, safety and improved conditions after other prayers.
The statement concluded with a prayer asking Allah Almighty to remove the hardships facing the people and bless the region with beneficial rainfall and His mercy.
The appeal was issued by Maulana Abdul Rab Khateebi Nadvi, Qazi of Jamaat ul Muslimeen Bhatkal, and Maulana Khwaja Moinuddin Akrami Nadvi, Qazi Markazi Khalifa of Jamaat ul Muslimeen Bhatkal.
