Bhatkal Muslim Youth Federation Organises Anti Drug Awareness Programme, Calls for Collective Efforts to Protect Youth
Doctors and experts from Aurangabad highlight the physical, mental and social consequences of substance abuse and urge young people to lead a healthy life.

Bhatkal (Fikrokhabar News): With the aim of raising awareness about the growing threat of substance abuse among young people, the Bhatkal Muslim Youth Federation organised a special awareness programme at the Madina Welfare Society building last night.
Doctors and experts who arrived from Aurangabad spoke about the harmful physical, mental and social consequences of drug addiction. They urged young people to stay away from intoxicating substances and adopt a healthy lifestyle.
The programme began with the recitation of the Holy Quran. Following this, Bhatkal Muslim Youth Federation General Secretary Mubashir Hussain Hallare introduced the organisation and welcomed the guests from Aurangabad, expressing happiness over their visit.
Guest speaker Junaid Farooqui spoke in detail about drug addiction and the problems associated with substance abuse. He said drug addiction is not merely an issue affecting an individual’s health, but also has serious consequences for personal life, families and society.
He stressed the importance of educating young people about these dangers and creating greater awareness to protect them from falling into addiction.
Referring to ongoing anti drug awareness initiatives in Bhatkal, Junaid said boards carrying messages against substance abuse had been installed at various locations across the town. He said these efforts reflected the seriousness with which the local police department was addressing the issue, particularly the need to protect young people from addiction.
He added that the government had also assigned the police responsibility for tackling the problem, and police personnel were making efforts in this direction.
However, Junaid emphasised that the fight against drugs should not be viewed as the responsibility of the police and government agencies alone. Young people, parents, educational institutions and social organisations must also play an active role in creating awareness and preventing substance abuse.
The doctors and experts attending the programme also explained the harmful effects of intoxicating substances on human health. They pointed out that addiction can negatively affect not only physical and mental well being but also education, daily life and the future of young people.
Participants were encouraged to avoid drugs, take care of their health and channel their abilities into positive and constructive activities.
Representatives of the Bhatkal Muslim Youth Federation and the Bhatkal unit of Paigham e Insaniyat were present on the stage.
