Another Fishing Boat Sinks at Tadadi Port, Four Fishermen Rescued
Heavy waves and silt filled waters caused the accident, raising fresh concerns over navigation safety at the port.

Karwar: Another fishing boat sank at Tadadi Port near Gokarna in Kumta taluk of Uttara Kannada district on Tuesday after getting caught in a silt filled stretch and being hit by strong waves.
Four fishermen who were on board were rescued safely by local fishermen. No casualties were reported in the incident.
The boat, named Lakshmi Krupa and owned by Surendra Harikantra, had left Tadadi Port for fishing earlier in the day.
However, the boat became trapped in a shallow area near the port where silt has accumulated. Strong waves later damaged the bottom of the vessel, causing it to sink into the sea.
The incident is estimated to have caused a financial loss of around Rs 20 lakh.
The latest accident has renewed concerns among the fishing community about the condition of the Tadadi approach channel.
Just two days earlier, another fishing boat named Sridevi had sunk at the same location. Fishermen say the heavy accumulation of silt in the channel is making it increasingly difficult and dangerous for boats to enter and leave the port.
With two boats sinking within a week, concerns among local fishermen have grown significantly.
Fishermen have urged the government and concerned authorities to remove the accumulated silt from the Tadadi channel at the earliest and take immediate steps to ensure safe movement of fishing boats.
