Air India Pilot Found Dead in Delhi Hotel, Police Rule Out Foul Play
Pilot was in Delhi for Boeing 787 training; preliminary findings suggest cardiac arrest
New Delhi: An Air India pilot was found dead inside his hotel room in the Vasant Kunj area of New Delhi during a layover. Preliminary police investigations have ruled out foul play.
The pilot was staying at the hotel while attending specialised Boeing 787 conversion training in the national capital.
The incident came to light after family members contacted the hotel management when the pilot failed to respond to repeated phone calls. Hotel staff later opened the room with a master key and found him unconscious and unresponsive.
He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
Initial medical assessments suggest that he may have died of sudden cardiac arrest. However, the exact cause of death is expected to be confirmed after the completion of the post mortem examination at Safdarjung Hospital.
Air India expressed deep grief over the death of its crew member. The airline said it is in close contact with the bereaved family and is providing full administrative support during the difficult period.
