An Agra resident, Rafiq Khan, was arrested after posting a video on social media in which he highlighted badly damaged roads in his area and made a remark about Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

In the video, Khan showed large potholes on a local road while expressing frustration over the poor condition of the infrastructure. During his criticism, he also referred to the Chief Minister with a derogatory comment, saying, “UP ka mukhyamantri takla! Yeh hai vikas!” The clip quickly spread online and drew the attention of the police.

According to Agra Police, action was taken against Khan for uploading content that contained objectionable remarks about the Chief Minister. The police said the arrest was made after the video was reported.

On Sunday, July 13, another video surfaced showing Khan walking out of the police lockup with folded hands. In the video, he offered an unconditional apology and said he regretted making the recording. He stated that it was a mistake, promised not to make such videos again, and requested forgiveness.

Agra Police also shared details of the case through its official X account. The department appealed to the public to use social media responsibly and avoid posting or sharing content that could disturb public order or include indecent, misleading, or objectionable material.
