During the meeting, officials reported that 41 gram panchayats in the district are currently facing water shortages. Out of these, 17 villages are being supplied with water through government and private tankers.

To tackle emergency situations, Dr. Shashi said that 98 private borewells have been identified across the district. These will be used to ensure water supply in areas facing acute shortages.

He also instructed officials to regularly maintain rural water supply pipelines to prevent leakage and wastage. Emphasizing the importance of safe drinking water, he directed that water samples should be tested frequently in laboratories to avoid contamination and prevent the spread of diseases.

Reviewing the progress of the Jal Jeevan Mission scheme, he noted that 745 projects have been completed so far, with 685 already handed over to gram panchayats. A total of Rs 481.25 crore has been spent on the scheme, accounting for about 54.76 percent of the overall budget.

Dr. Shashi further urged officials to speed up pending works and continue follow ups with the forest department to clear any hurdles affecting project completion.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Secretary Allahbash, Chief Accounts Officer Anand Sa Habib, Executive Engineer Satyappa, and other senior officials.
