According to police, the toddler had stepped outside her house after waking up in the morning and was playing near the courtyard when six to seven stray dogs suddenly attacked her.

Eyewitnesses said the dogs dragged the child towards an open area and brutally mauled her. Family members and local residents rushed to the spot after hearing cries, but by the time they managed to chase away the animals, the child had sustained severe injuries.

The toddler suffered grievous wounds on her face, hands, legs, and abdomen and succumbed to her injuries on the spot. Doctors later confirmed her death.

The tragic incident sparked widespread anger among local residents, who staged protests against the alleged negligence of civic authorities. Protesters claimed that the area has witnessed a sharp rise in stray dog attacks in recent years, making it unsafe for children, women, and elderly residents.

Locals alleged that several complaints had previously been submitted to the authorities regarding the growing stray dog population, but no effective action was taken. They argued that timely intervention could have prevented the loss of an innocent life.

Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the incident.

Following public outrage, senior officials visited the bereaved family and assured residents that immediate measures would be taken to capture stray dogs and intensify sterilization drives in the area.

However, the grieving family expressed disappointment, stating that administrative assurances cannot compensate for the irreparable loss of their child. They have demanded strict accountability and immediate action to prevent such tragedies from recurring.
