The Arab League Council, composed of permanent delegates, strongly condemned Israel’s plans to impose full military control over the Gaza Strip and forcibly displace the Palestinian people. The council criticized Israel’s actions as crimes of aggression, genocide, and ethnic cleansing against Palestinians in Gaza, the West Bank, and Jerusalem.

In a resolution passed during an extraordinary session in Cairo, the council declared these Israeli moves violations of international law that threaten the security and stability of all Arab states. The decisions were described as a direct attack on Arab national interests and a risk to peace in the region.

The council renewed its urgent call to protect Palestinians from displacement and genocide, urging respect for international laws and United Nations resolutions. It emphasized the need to lift the Israeli siege on Gaza to allow enough humanitarian aid to reach the entire area. The council highlighted the deadly use of starvation as a weapon by Israel, which has caused hundreds of Palestinian deaths, including many children.

Further, the council condemned deadly traps set by Israeli forces and held Israel fully responsible for the siege’s impact. It called for strengthening Palestinian governance in Gaza and the West Bank under the Palestine Liberation Organization’s leadership to uphold unity and law.

The council urged Arab representatives in the UN Security Council and the international community to push for an immediate ceasefire, unrestricted humanitarian aid access, and sanctions on Israel for its violations. They also called for legal measures against Israel, such as arms embargoes and investigations into war crimes.

The need for the United States and other global powers to pressure Israel to end its occupation was emphasized, alongside support for the two-state solution framework. The Arab League also backed boycotts of companies helping Israel’s occupation and ethnic cleansing efforts.

The council requested a legal study on Israel’s actions and affirmed backing for the Qatar-Egypt mediation efforts to end the conflict. It reaffirmed resolutions from the recent Palestine Summit in Cairo and invited countries to participate in Gaza’s reconstruction.

The Arab League vowed to keep the council active and monitor the situation, ensuring the implementation of its decisions. This stance highlights the continued regional and international opposition to Israel’s plans for Gaza and steadfast support for Palestinian rights.
