Siddapur: Tejaswi Naik, an IAS officer from Siddapur in Uttara Kannada district, has been promoted to the post of Joint Secretary in the Union Ministry of Labour and Empowerment. The development marks a significant milestone in his administrative career.

A 2009 batch officer from the Madhya Pradesh cadre, Naik was previously serving as Private Secretary to Union Minister for Heavy Industries H D Kumaraswamy. Over the years, he has gained recognition for his disciplined approach and effective governance during his postings in Madhya Pradesh.

Officials familiar with his work credit him for playing an important role in the successful rollout of the Jal Mission scheme in the state. The initiative received international attention, highlighting his ability to manage large scale government programmes efficiently. Earlier in his career, he also worked as Private Secretary to Union Agriculture Minister Arjun Munda.

Given his experience and consistent performance, the Central Government has now assigned him the responsibility of Joint Secretary, a key role in policy implementation and administration within the ministry.

Naik’s family also has a strong presence in public service. His wife, Swati Meena Naik, is an IAS officer and currently serves as Joint Secretary in the Union Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation.
