Uttara Kannada SP Visits Murdeshwar Accident Site, Orders Stronger Road Safety Measures
Police chief calls for immediate action to prevent accidents after inspecting the recent crash location near Basti Kaikini.
Murdeshwar: Following the recent fatal road accident near the Basti Kaikini Panchayat Cross in Murdeshwar, Uttara Kannada Superintendent of Police (SP) visited the accident site on Saturday to assess the situation.
The SP, accompanied by concerned officials, inspected the location and reviewed the traffic conditions, road infrastructure and possible causes of the accident.
During the visit, the SP directed the concerned departments to take immediate and effective measures to reduce the risk of further accidents on the highway. He stressed the need to improve road safety by installing speed breakers at suitable locations, putting up warning and direction signboards and strengthening traffic management in the area.
The SP said that protecting the lives and property of the public is the highest priority of the police and the administration. He urged all concerned departments to work together to implement long term safety measures at accident prone locations.
Speaking to the media, the SP also appealed to motorists and the public to strictly follow traffic rules, drive within speed limits and exercise caution while travelling to help reduce road accidents.
