A heartbreaking incident has been reported from Rajasthan’s Alwar district, where two young sisters died after getting trapped inside a locked car parked at a motor workshop.

The tragic accident took place in Khadonpuri village under the Vaishali Nagar police station limits. According to police, the children entered a car that had been parked at the workshop for repairs while they were playing near their home.

The victims have been identified as eight year old Tina and five year old Lakshmi. Police said the sisters were playing outside after their father, Ramesh Kumar, had gone to work.

During their play, the children reportedly entered the parked vehicle. Investigators believe the car door locked automatically due to a technical issue or accidental handling, leaving the girls trapped inside. With rising temperatures and lack of ventilation, the children suffocated inside the closed vehicle.

The incident came to light in the evening when their father returned home and could not find them. Family members and local residents began searching for the children in the surrounding area.

Some residents later informed the family that the girls had been seen near the workshop earlier in the day. When people checked the parked car and opened the door, they found both children unconscious inside. They had reportedly died before they could be taken to the hospital.

Police officials visited the spot soon after receiving information and collected CCTV footage installed near the workshop. According to investigators, the footage confirmed that the children had entered the vehicle on their own and that no foul play was involved.

The tragedy has left the entire village in deep grief, with residents mourning the loss of the two sisters.

Adding to the family’s sorrow, the children’s mother had reportedly died of a heart attack nearly four years ago. Since then, their father had been raising the girls alone while working as a daily wage labourer.

Police said the bodies would be handed over to the family after post mortem procedures. A case of accidental death has been registered and further investigation is underway.
