Two Migrant Tailors Drown at Bhatkal’s Nastar Beach
Two youths from Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur lose their lives after being caught in rough waves during a leisure swim.

A tragic drowning incident at Bhatkal’s Nastar Beach has left two young migrant workers dead. The mishap occurred when the duo visited the popular coastal spot for a swim and recreational outing.
The deceased have been identified as 28 year old Rizwan and 33 year old Afroz. Both men hailed from Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh and had been residing in Bhatkal for an extended period to pursue work opportunities. They were employed as tailors at a unit located near Faizan Kasarkod’s residence in the town.
Preliminary details suggest the two had gone to Nastar Beach to unwind and go swimming. They were suddenly caught in a surge of strong sea waves and were pulled under the water before they could react or call for help.
On receiving word of the incident, local residents rushed to the spot and managed to retrieve both bodies from the sea. The remains were later shifted to Bhatkal Government Hospital for mandatory legal and medical procedures.
Police officials have confirmed that a case has been registered in connection with the incident. Further investigation is underway to ascertain all details surrounding the mishap.
