Three Killed as Tourist Bus Crashes into Parked Tanker Near Trasi Coast
Dozens injured after bus carrying students collides on NH 66 in Kundapur
Tarasi: At least three people were killed and several others injured in a serious road accident near Trasi beach in Kundapur on Tuesday.
The incident took place along National Highway 66 when a tourist bus rammed into a tanker that was parked on the roadside. According to initial reports, the bus was travelling from Murdeshwar towards Udupi when the collision occurred.
The bus was carrying 47 passengers at the time of the accident. Most of them were BCom students from a college in Shivamogga district who were on a coastal tour.
Many of the injured were rushed to nearby private hospitals for treatment. Authorities said that several victims are in critical condition.
Police reached the spot soon after receiving information about the crash. A case has been registered and an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the accident.
