Suruathkal: CNG Tanker Leak Triggers Panic, National Highway Temporarily Closed
Leak near Harsha showroom prompts emergency response and brief traffic shutdown.

Suruathkal: A brief panic broke out near Suruathkal Junction on Friday night after a CNG tanker developed a leak close to the Harsha showroom, causing concern among local residents.
The tanker had reportedly refilled CNG from the Baikampady GAIL pump and began leaking shortly after it started towards Suruathkal. The driver immediately stopped the vehicle on the side of the National Highway and alerted authorities about the potential danger.
As a precaution, officials temporarily closed the National Highway and followed standard safety protocols to prevent any possible mishap.
Experts say that while CNG is a form of natural gas and generally less hazardous than cooking gas, there is still a risk of cylinder explosions if a fire occurs. Keeping this in mind, emergency teams quickly implemented necessary safety measures at the spot.
