Strict Action Against Poor Quality Development Works, Warns Uttara Kannada ZP CEO
District officials have been directed to ensure high construction standards and timely completion of rural water supply projects.

Karwar: Uttara Kannada Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Dr Dilish Shashi has warned that strict legal and administrative action will be taken against officials responsible for poor quality or negligent execution of development projects under the Rural Drinking Water and Sanitation Department.
Chairing the District Water and Sanitation Committee meeting at the Zilla Panchayat Hall on Monday, Dr Shashi stressed that there would be no compromise on the quality of work, including projects implemented under the Task Force programme.
He instructed officials to ensure that every project is completed according to the prescribed standards. He also said that bills for completed works will be approved only after detailed project reports and GPS based photographic evidence are submitted for verification.
The CEO further directed officials to ensure that electricity connections and pump sets are installed immediately after borewell drilling is completed. He said timely installation is essential to prevent disruptions in the supply of safe drinking water to rural communities.
The meeting also reviewed the maintenance, repair, and performance of RO drinking water plants operating across the district. Deputy Secretary of the Zilla Panchayat M S Allah Baksh, Executive Engineers, Assistant Executive Engineers, Junior Engineers, and other department officials attended the meeting.
