SIR Helpline Centre Launched in Bhatkal to Assist Voters During Electoral Roll Revision
The initiative by Majlis Islah Wa Tanzeem and Bhatkal Muslim Youth Federation aims to help voters with registration, verification and correction of electoral details.
Bhatkal: In view of the Election Commission’s ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, Majlis Islah Wa Tanzeem, in collaboration with the Bhatkal Muslim Youth Federation (BMYF), has launched a dedicated SIR Helpline Centre on Bandar Road to assist voters with the revision process.
The centre was inaugurated on Sunday and has been set up to guide the public on voter registration, correction of voter details, verification of electoral records and other procedures related to the Election Commission’s special revision drive.
Speaking at the inauguration, SIR Committee Convener Mubashir Hillare said that trained volunteers will be available at the centre to help people fill out forms and complete other required formalities. He added that awareness programmes will also be organised to educate the public about the importance of the voter verification process.
Majlis Islah Wa Tanzeem President Inayatullah Shabandri appealed to all eligible voters, especially young people, to actively participate in the electoral roll revision. He urged residents to cooperate with Booth Level Officers and Booth Level Agents by providing the necessary information during the verification process so that no eligible citizen is left out of the voter list.
According to the organisers, the helpline centre will remain open every day from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm. Members of the public can also seek assistance by calling the helpline number 9972818849.
The programme began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by a welcome address by Mubashir Hallare. Majlis General Secretary Azizur Rahman Ruknuddin delivered the vote of thanks. Among those present were Qazi of Jamaatul Muslimeen Bhatkal Maulana Abdul Rab Nadvi, Khalifa Qazi Maulana Khwaja Moinuddin Akrami Madani, Bhatkal Muslim Youth Federation President Maulana Vasiullah DF and several other community members.
