Sheikh Dr. Abdul Bari bin Awad Al-Thubaiti named as reserve khateeb for this week's sermon

The Presidency for Religious Affairs at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque has announced that Sheikh Dr. Abdul Muhsin bin Hassan Al-Qasim, Imam and Khateeb of the Prophet’s Mosque, will deliver this Friday’s sermon in Madinah. The sermon falls on 10 Safar 1448 AH, corresponding to July 24, 2026.
In line with standard practice, a reserve khateeb has also been designated for the occasion. This week, that responsibility falls to Sheikh Dr. Abdul Bari bin Awad Al-Thubaiti, a well-known figure among imams at the Prophet’s Mosque.
The update was shared by the Agency for Imams and Muezzins Affairs. Friday sermons from the Prophet’s Mosque are followed closely by Muslims worldwide, many of whom watch the live broadcast from Madinah each week.
Sheikh Al-Qasim is among the senior imams serving at the mosque and is widely recognized for his recitation and sermons, which reach millions of listeners across the globe through television and online streaming.
