Victims, including three children, were taking shelter when the wall gave way amid strong winds and rain

Seven people lost their lives in a tragic incident on Wednesday after a compound wall at a government hospital in Bengaluru collapsed during heavy rain and strong winds, according to police.
The accident took place at Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital. Authorities said the victims had gathered near the wall seeking shelter from the sudden downpour when the structure suddenly gave way.
All seven victims, including three children, died on the spot. Police sources indicated that those who died were street vendors working in the area.
Emergency teams and police personnel quickly arrived at the scene. With the help of local residents, rescue workers used an earthmover to clear the debris and recover the bodies.
The incident has raised concerns about public safety during extreme weather conditions and the structural stability of old infrastructure.
