BHATKAL – The Rahmat Abad Friends Forum has appealed directly to Uttara Kannada’s District In-Charge Minister, Shri Mankal Vaidya, demanding immediate action to address the severe civic neglect in their locality.

In a formal letter dated November 8, 2025, the registered society highlighted the deplorable state of the PWD road connecting Tengingundi Cross to Tengingundi Fishery Port. Residents report that the road has been in a state of disrepair for months, causing vehicle damage, personal injuries, and severe waterlogging during rains due to a lack of proper drainage.

The forum stated that despite repeated complaints to local authorities, no repair work has been undertaken, leading to widespread public frustration. The letter conveys a firm ultimatum, warning that if the situation is not resolved within 15 days, the community will be forced to stage a peaceful protest to draw attention to their plight.

Beyond the road, the appeal also underscores the lack of other basic amenities, including poor street lighting and unclean drains. The residents describe these as essential needs for a dignified life, not luxuries.

The Rahmat Abad Friends Forum has placed its trust in Minister Vaidya’s intervention, urging him to direct the concerned PWD and civic departments to take swift action.
