New Delhi: Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi on Monday claimed that around 200 officials working under the Union government were in contact with him and sharing internal information from key departments, including the Enforcement Directorate (ED), Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Foreign Ministry.

Speaking at a press conference at the All India Congress Committee headquarters ahead of the INDIA bloc’s planned march to the Supreme Court, Gandhi said the officials were passing information to the opposition. He challenged the government, asserting that the truth was on their side.

Gandhi also called on citizens to join the march against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. He demanded Kumar’s resignation and made a strong remark about his future as CEC, saying, “You will not survive as CEC.”

The Congress leader questioned the security restrictions in the national capital, asking why people were being prevented from reaching Delhi. He described the situation as one in which the capital had been turned into a fortress.

Six Delhi Metro Stations Closed

Ahead of the planned march, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation announced that entry and exit at six central Delhi stations would remain closed from 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Monday for security reasons.

The affected stations were Patel Chowk, Janpath, Rajiv Chowk, Mandi House, Central Secretariat and Barakhamba Road. Interchange facilities remained available at the affected stations.

Chief Justice Declines Meeting With Opposition Leaders

Chief Justice of India Surya Kant declined a request from Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi to meet an INDIA bloc delegation ahead of the march.

According to reports citing sources, the Chief Justice advised the leaders to approach the court through a formal petition, noting that issues relating to alleged electoral irregularities were already before the judiciary. He also reportedly referred to the Supreme Court’s role in protecting citizens’ fundamental rights.

The INDIA bloc’s march is part of the opposition’s campaign over alleged electoral irregularities and its demand for action against the Chief Election Commissioner. The allegations raised by opposition leaders remain claims and are subject to legal and electoral scrutiny.
