Public Outrage Erupts Over Poor Condition of Sirsi Haveri National Highway

Sirsi: Public anger is mounting over the deteriorating condition of the Sirsi Haveri National Highway, with residents staging protests against the contractor responsible for the road work.
According to local reports, continuous rainfall has further worsened the condition of the highway, leaving large potholes, muddy stretches and damaged sections that have made daily travel difficult for commuters.
Residents alleged that despite several years passing, the highway project remains incomplete and the quality of construction has been poor. They also expressed concern over the increasing number of accidents caused by the damaged road.
During the protest, angry members of the public questioned the contractor and demanded that the work be completed immediately with proper quality standards. The situation created tension in the area and also affected traffic movement for some time.
In recent days, protests against the poor state of the Sirsi Haveri Highway have been reported from several locations. Traders, transport operators and regular travellers have also voiced strong dissatisfaction over the delays and unsafe road conditions.
