Protecting Shariah Must Be Accompanied by Understanding and Practising It: Maulana Fazlur Rahim Mujaddidi

Bhatkal: A special meeting of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board office bearers with community leaders, representatives of organisations in Gulf countries and members from surrounding areas was held during the board’s visit to Bhatkal.

The meeting focused on the protection of Shariah, developing a proper understanding of its teachings and encouraging their practical application in society.

Addressing the gathering, Board General Secretary Maulana Fazlur Rahim Mujaddidi said the core objectives of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board could be summed up in three areas: protecting Shariah, understanding Shariah and implementing Shariah.

He stressed that safeguarding Shariah alone is not enough. There is also a pressing need to explain the wisdom behind its teachings and the importance of the Islamic family system to the younger generation, women and every section of society in a clear and meaningful way.

Maulana Fazlur Rahim Mujaddidi said that after gaining a proper understanding of Shariah, the real goal is to shape both individual and collective life according to Islamic teachings. He urged Muslims to make Shariah part of their daily lives rather than limiting discussions about it to theoretical matters.

He also highlighted the various initiatives being carried out by the Board in different fields. He called upon representatives of community organisations and institutions to help create greater awareness about Shariah and contribute to advancing the objectives of the Board.

The meeting was chaired by All India Muslim Personal Law Board President Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rahmani.

Among the Bhatkal based Board office bearers present were Maulana Muhammad Ilyas Nadwi, Maulana Abdul Aleem Qasmi, Maulana Maqbool Ahmad Nadwi and Atiqur Rahman Muniri, along with other community representatives.
