The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques has officially published the weekly prayer Imam schedule for the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah, covering the period from Sunday, 30 Dhul Qa’dah to Saturday, 6 Dhul Hijjah 1447 AH – the opening week of the blessed month of Dhul Hijjah.

Here is the complete schedule for the week:

Fajr (Dawn Prayer) Led by Sheikh Dr. Salah bin Muhammad Al-Budayr, with Sheikh Prof. Dr. Muhammad bin Ahmad Barhaji serving as the backup Imam.

Dhuhr (Midday Prayer) Led by Sheikh Dr. Khalid bin Suleiman Al-Muhanna, with Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Abdurrahman Al-Buaijan as the reserve Imam.

Asr (Afternoon Prayer) Led by Sheikh Prof. Dr. Muhammad bin Ahmad Barhaji, with Sheikh Dr. Salah bin Muhammad Al-Budayr standing by as backup.

Maghrib (Sunset Prayer) Led by Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulmohsen Al-Qarafi, with Sheikh Dr. Khalid bin Suleiman Al-Muhanna as the reserve Imam.

Isha (Night Prayer) Led by Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Abdurrahman Al-Buaijan, with Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulmohsen Al-Qarafi serving as the backup Imam.


This schedule carries exceptional importance as it covers the first week of Dhul Hijjah — the holiest and most blessed month in the Islamic calendar. The Prophet’s Mosque is currently receiving its largest crowds of the year, with hundreds of thousands of pilgrims passing through Madinah to offer prayers and salutations upon the Prophet ﷺ before heading to Makkah for Hajj.

The ten blessed days of Dhul Hijjah — which include Arafah Day and Eid al-Adha — are now just around the corner, and the atmosphere in Madinah is one of immense spiritual energy and devotion.
