Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday distributed more than 51,000 appointment letters to newly selected candidates during the latest edition of the Rozgar Mela, reaffirming the government’s focus on creating employment opportunities for the youth.

The recruitment event was held virtually and connected candidates from across the country. The Rozgar Mela initiative was launched to speed up recruitment in government departments and public sector institutions.

According to the government, nearly 12 lakh appointment letters have been distributed so far through 18 Rozgar Mela events conducted nationwide.

Addressing the newly recruited employees, the Prime Minister said young professionals have an important responsibility in shaping the country’s future. He noted that the recruits would contribute directly to India’s economic growth and public service system.

The new appointees will join departments linked to education, healthcare, defence, banking, and the railway sector. Several recruits will also serve in ministries and departments under the central government, including the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Department of Financial Services, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, and higher education institutions.

Modi congratulated the selected candidates and their families, saying their contribution would support the vision of building a developed India. He also said the world is increasingly recognising the potential and innovation of India’s youth, with many countries showing interest in strengthening ties with the Indian economy.

The Rozgar Mela was organised simultaneously at 47 locations across the country, bringing together thousands of newly selected candidates for the large scale recruitment drive.
