The impact caused the motorcyclist to lose control and collide with a tipper lorry. He died on the spot. Mohan Chandra was thrown off his scooter and suffered severe head injuries. A local tempo driver rushed him to a private hospital in Kankanady, where he remained in critical condition before succumbing to his injuries two days later.

The entire sequence of events was captured on a dashcam mounted in a nearby vehicle, leaving little doubt about how the tragedy unfolded.

What makes this loss even more painful is the timing. Mohan Chandra’s eldest daughter was set to get married on May 10, just weeks away. A household full of wedding preparations and celebrations has now been left in grief.

He was a lifetime member of the South Canara Photographers Association and was known for his active participation in community activities. Several organizations have expressed deep sorrow over his passing. He is survived by his wife and two daughters.
